Sub rosa is an old prisoners term for a secret underground passageway used for a prison escape. The red laser makes one rotation per minute. As it hits the mirror in the upper corner of the pentagon it draws a pentagram through the reflections in each of the five corners during a short instant. The pentagram is, among other things, a constructional icon for the planet Venus' passageway through the zodiac during an eight-year period.
The four inkjet prints (variable size) are redrawn and modified from old prison architectural drawings from different parts of the world.
